Why bother if we already have â€˜Proudly South Africanâ€™?
â€˜Proudly South Africanâ€™ is doing a great job in making people aware of the possibility and upsides of buying local. To be able to market your commercial company as Proudly South African, however, you have to pay in order to able to use the logo on your products. Furthermore, although one of their criteria is adherence to environmental and fair labour standards, I am not convinced that all their members (take Petro SA or Eskom, for example) necessarily have the same understanding of those that I do. â€˜Proudly SAâ€™ is the right kind of agency to deal with government or assist a large-scale procurement manager, while this book is meant to help everyday prosumers.
