South African designer clothes at Woolworths & YDE

While Woolworths sells some South African fashion designers’ clothes, they often have the stock manufactured overseas. For customers this means that we have to be aware that we might be buying an ‘imported product designed by South Africans’. Designers might have to trade in some of their passion for local in return for the exposure offered by Woolworths, as the retailer doesn’t seem to be negotiable on the point. Clothes sold at Young Designer Emporium are also not necessarily manufactured locally.
